ATV312HU40N4 – Schneider Electric Variable Speed Drive


The ATV312HU40N4 is a 3-phase, 5 HP, 9.5 Amp, 4.0 kW variable frequency drive in the Altivar ATV 312 Series by Schneider Electric. A variable frequency drive is a piece of equipment that drives an electric motor by varying the frequency and torque output. Variable frequency drives are often referred to as variable speed drives, AC drives, adjustable speed drives, microdrives, and inverters.

As discussed in a previous blog, the Altivar 312 series allows industrial machines to run more efficiently, while balancing the best-in-class features of the Altivar drives and an easy-to-use, friendly interface. The size of the drives are very compact, making them small, yet powerful and reliable.
